The Best Protein and Snack Bars

Snack bars and protein bars make many promises, however no bar can actually replace whole foods like nuts, seeds, crunchy vegetables and juicy fruit. We do recognize that busy lives do make these foods handy in a pinch. It does feel like the marketplace for these bars expands daily so we’ve taken some of the guess work out of the equation to help you select a better bar to have on hand.

Here is the criteria we use when selecting a snack bar for ourselves and our families.

  1. Less than 250 calories

  2. Less than 7 grams added sugar

  3. No Sucralose of other sugar alcohols

  4. No more than 2 grams of saturated fat

  5. At least 8 grams of protein in a protein bar
